Dead Birds is set in 1863, and the best horror I have seen in a year! Opening with a bank robbery, Thomas and his band of outlaws make off with a bundle of gold and decamp in a deserted house. Nightfall comes, a thunderstorm is booming and the robbers are individually contacted by visions of what happened in the house. It soon becomes apparent that this place is haunted by something very nasty.
The soundtrack is fantastic, just a cacophony of noise, but so well done the artist deserves to be declared lifetime dictator of Earth, and I will willingly serve him (well probably!).
Dead Birds made me jump twice, I never ever, ever jump at movies, its so claustrophobic its edge of the seat stuff for over an hour, filmmakers can learn a lot from Dead Birds! I have one complaint though, the title, there is only one dead bird in it :) Watch this movie, you may want someone to hold your hand though, and be sure the lights are on :)
Here is the trailer...
