Dr Terrors House of Horrors was made in 1965, its the first of the horror anthology films made by Amicus Studios in Britain in the 60s and early 70s.
Five travellers on a train encounter a mysterious stranger (Peter Cushing) who tells their fortunes using a deck of tarot cards. Each of the men find out something very sinister about themselves and their lives as their fortunes are told. This is five short stories condensed into an hour and a half and it keeps you watching all the time. Christopher Lee, Donald Sutherland and Roy Castle also star in this film with a twist at the end. Classic Amicus!
I was pleased to find Dr Terrors House of Horrors on DVD, I remember seeing is as a teenager, and its as good today! A gorefest it isn't, but a classic it is!
