The basic plot of The Slaughter is not far from the Evil Dead movie, with a hint of HP Lovecraft. I have picked up a budget version of the DVD, and I suspect they haven't mastered it correctly, the sound was very bassy, which is a great pity as I really enjoyed the movie!
The only poor special effect was the fire, also in one place the incidental music was too loud to hear the dialogue, and I wouldn't have had the main characters talk amongst themselves during zombie attacks, these could have been really tense, but instead seemed to play the tension down, despite the great effects.
Overall if you like horror movies, I'd say watch it!
