Cloverfield DVD Report

In Cloverfield, four young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the Central Park area of New York, and he brings smaller friends too! Told on their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal and horrifying event of their lives.

When this we released it got fantastic reviews, but its nothing more then Blair Witch Project done in a Godzilla style situation, and its been copied since with such movies as Diary of the Dead too! Its also a copy of an older Japanese movie, which name I forget!

So how is Cloverfield now the dust has settled? Personally I'd cut the 20 pre-monster section to 10 minutes, and add another action scene later on, but thats just my view! Overall the monster is OK, as are the smaller monsters, but I don't rate this much, but fortunately its short at 80 minutes, so OK I suppose!
