In Hatchet, bored by New Orleans Mardi Gras, Ben (Joel Moore) ditches his friends and takes in a haunted swamp boat ride instead. Led by Captain Shawn (Parry Shen) a guide of dubious knowledge, the boat sets off with the dodball collection of tourists, all in search of answers to the mysteries of the bayou. When the boat crashes and sinks to the bottom of the swamp, the group is forced to walk back to the city.
They must fight to survive the local legend, a vengeful deformed maniac who calls the swamp home, setting out to kill anyone who dares venture on his land, and they are right in the middle of it!
This sounds like a straight to video movie, but with added Hollywood production its very good, especially with cameos by Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Tony Todd (Candyman), plus theres Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhees) as the monster Victor Crowley. Overall its enjoyable!
