Middletown is a thriller set in Ireland, centred around on religious intolerance, fundamentalism and piety. Father Gabriel (Matthew MacFadyen) returns to his home town to find in his eyes, it has become a den of iniquity and evil everywhere. His sister-in-law runs a pub that opens on the Sabbath, cock fights, street brawls and gambling are nightly occurrences, and Gabriel will tolerate none of this.

Gabriel considers it his personal duty to rid the place of the works of Satan, he starts on his own family and soon has neighbour pitted against neighbour and the town in chaos.

Middletown looks to be a good movie, but I feel character building doesn't happen, the priest isn't as extreme as he could be, and each time it got really good, it dropped off again. There are better movies to watch :)
