In the harsh, unforgiving landscape of the Outback, Charlie Burns (Guy Pearce) is presented with an impossible proposition by local law enforcer Captain Stanley (Ray Winstone). To save his younger brother Mikey from the gallows he must track down and kill Arthur (Danny Huston), his psychotic older brother.
While Charlie is forced to choose between revenge, loyalty and his own conscience, Stanley, having given up a civilised life in England, is determined to impose law and order and shield his innocent wife Martha (Emily Watson) from the brutalities of their new surroundings.
I picked up this at a car boot for £1, not bad for a double DVD, I then saw Ray Winstone was in it - Bonus!, John Hurt too - only a minor role, but double Bonus, written by Nick Cave - hmm, starring Guy Pearce - err... wasn't he in Neighbours? I suspected I'd scored an own goal - and I had, Ray Winstone was nothing special, John Hurt as pretty funny, Guy Pearce was surprisingly ok, but the movie sucked ass! I suspect to much of the budget was spent on flies a lot less on story! Dull!
Here is the trailer...
