Jerry Bruckheimer the producer, and Antoine Fuqua the director of the movie King Arthur have ditched much of the very familiar legend of Arthur, in favor of fresh historical claims that Arthur (Clive Owen) is the product of unrevealed archaeological evidence!
The film discards the usual Arthurian legends of courtly romance and chivalry, and instead celebrates the nitty-gritty of the Dark Ages - a time when the Roman army was withdrawing from Britain and Saxon warriors, led by a barbarian-like Stellan Skarsgard, were on the attack. Arthur himself is Roman-British and is experiencing an identity crisis, while leading his knights to defend his homeland while he experiences the inherited values of Rome.
King Arthur is another great movie, I really enjoyed it! The retelling of the legend from a new angle is such a refresnhing change, the battle scenes are fantastic too! Recomended!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
