Honest DVD Report

Dave Stewart
(Eurythmics) makes his directing debut with this film starring three of the members of pop group All Saints, sisters Nicole Appleton and Natalie Appleton and Melanie Blatt, I suppose the warning signals where there, but I was told it was OK.

The All Saints play the Chase sisters, a trio of gun toting Cockneys who dive into the criminal underworld, stealing from the rich while keeping it for themselves, and experimenting with sex and drugs (a little). Set in a suitably candy colored and unrealistic, trippy version of London in the late 1960s, Honest claims to be a comedy, but I never laughed, it features a long trip sequence, probably designed by someone who has a romantic idea of a trip but has never experienced one, in which the girls take some hallucinogens hidden inside some cupcakes.

Overall, I'm sure Honest was made because Dave Stewart wanted to make it, not because someone wanted Dave Stewart to make it! The last 15 minutes weren't so bad the rest of the film was badly acted and dull! Avoid!

Sorry, I can't find a trailer, but perhaps thats a blessing!
