When Steve Myers (Billy Connolly) is told the lightning that destroyed his fishing boat was an act of God and the insurance company doesn't have to pay, he decides this is not good enough, so he sues God!
Myers is the protagonist in this feisty, relevant comedy that is The Man Who Sued God. Connolly brings humour as well as depth and reality to his character. Anna Redmond (Judy Davis), a well known but jaded media personality who inspires Steve to teach the insurance companies a lesson. The Man Who Sued God is a film about the experience of hypocrisy and injustice fought by someone who takes on corporate sharks!
The internet reviews didn't mention the horrific words Romantic Comedy, but I found them on the back of the cover - AAaaaarrggghhh, fortunately I only consider the last 15 minutes as such, the rest of it was a very good film!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
