Ramones End Of The Century, a several years-in-the-making story of the legendary New York punk band, traces the ups and downs the band experienced over the course of their 20-plus year career, before 2 deaths and disbanding!
Beginning before the bands first performances in the mid-1970s, it explores the eccentric and highly volatile band members, in all the various line-ups that were presented over the years, as the Ramones slowly gained fame for their high energy and high-tempo style of music that would later influence generations of punk rockers around the world. Mixing archival interviews with new material by the surviving band-members, as well as interviews with Ramones contemporaries, Ramones End of the Century encapsulates the East Coast underground music atmosphere of the 1970s and 80s that the band inadvertently shocked into existence!
To me Ramones End of the Century was a great documentary about a great band whos first album encapsulated the punk sound! I miss Joey and Dee Dee Ramone very much, their music spawned so many imitators, and many did it nearly as well!
Here is the trailer (the subtitles aren't on the movie :)
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
