Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell Classic Albums tells the story of a little-known singer and actor with the strange name of Meat Loaf trying to record then release Bat out of Hell, and against all odds it became one of the biggest-selling albums of all time (34 Million give or take a few Million), elevating the former Marvin Lee Aday to a rock superstar!
This documentary, produced for the VH1 Classic Albums series, incorporates interviews and live footage to show how Meat Loaf and his collaborators, including songwriter Jim Steinman, producer Todd Rundgren, and vocalists Ellen Foley and Karla DeVito, helped to craft a multi-million selling blockbuster.
Meat Loaf claims over they auditioned for over 5000 labels, before Todd Rundgren decided to record it, how the motorcycle on the recording is really a guitar, and how the live performances almost killed him! Awesome album, great documentary!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
