In In the Cut, a self-determined New York University Professor Frannie Avery (Meg Ryan) comes home one afternoon to find Detective Giovanni Malloy (Mark Ruffalo) waiting outside her door, and her life turns somewhat bizarre! When she sees Malloys tattoo on his wrist she recognises him as a man she saw receiving oral sex in a bar wash-room, from the prostitute whos just been murdered!
While the brutal murder becomes the first in a series, Frannie begins to suspect Malloy, but is her passion making her blind? Or is she sleeping with the murderer?
The cover of this DVD boasts The most intense serial killer thriller ever, I certainly wouldn't go that far, but In The Cut is a good movie and kept my interest until the end, but I guessed who did it, although there where only three real suspects, and you can always rule out the black guy, as they are never serial killers, and Malloy was the obvious one, so it couldn't be him! :) Overall, pretty good!
Although this is an 18 certificate, and sometimes we take them with a pinch of salt, this is a pretty sexual movie, with some powerful imagery. I suggest not showing this one to minors!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
