Vantage Point is an in your face thriller, interspersed with the point of view of eight strangers, rewinding the events leading to the attempted assassination of President Ashton (William Hurt), and Agent Thomas Barnes (Dennis Quaid) attempts to resolve events afterwards.
The story begins in Salamanca in Spain, at an eagerly anticipated summit on global terrorism, between the US and five other nations. Meanwhile, a fever pitched crowd of reporters, which include Forest Whitaker and Sigourney Weaver, with citizens and angry protesters denouncing the war. Each point-of-view plays back in real time to the crucial 23 minutes that occurred before and after the shooting. Vantage Point is a very clever movie, which features elements of both In the Line of Fire, and Day of the Jackal, I really enjoyed it, recommended!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
