Shade DVD Report

Print: Poor - Sound: Good - Label: Boulevard Entertainment - Cover: Good - Format: 4:3 - Length: 1h30m/1h34m - Before: No - Again: Yes if I get a better print- Price: £1 - Rating: 7/10.

Shade is set in the underground world of Los Angeles card sharks and gamblers, Tiffany (Thandie Newton) is a beautiful swindler who works with her partner, Charlie (Gabriel Byrne), in small-time schemes, but when The Dean (Sylvester Stallone) seems to be unbeatable, they devise a way to beat him!

They recruit Tiffanys old flame, Vernon (Stuart Townsend), a card mechanic and sleight-of-hand expert, to manoeuvre their way to The Deans poker table. Secret love affairs and allegiances are plenty, and The Dean, who everyone is trying to hustle, plays a dirty game with the help of his ex-girlfriend, Eve (Melanie Griffith) and in a game of whos cheating who, each player becomes a pawn in each-others swindle!

Shade was a good movie, but the print is terrible, and its deliberate! Made only 6 years ago, its in the digital world, so why the dirty print? And why all the detail and colour loss? I am looking for a non-Boulevard Entertainment copy of this, so I can enjoy it as it should be, instead of this degraded rubbish, I've had better pirate Telesyncs! Watch it, but avoid this release!

Here is the trailer...
