In Lions For Lambs, University students Arian (Derek Luke) and Ernest (Michael Pena) decide to join the army in the war on terror, but their professor, Stephen Malley (Robert Redford), is against it. As Arian and Ernest fight for their lives in Afghanistan, they become the tie that binds together two stories on opposite sides of America.
In California, Prpfessor Malley attempts to reach a privileged but disaffected student, Todd Haynes (Andrew Garfield), who is the very opposite of Arian and Ernest, meanwhile, in Washington, the Presidential hopeful, Senator Jasper Irving (Tom Cruise), is about to unleash a shocking revelation to a probing journalist, Janine Roth (Meryl Streep), stepping up the war in Afghanistan
I'm really getting into political thrillers and dramas, and Lions For Lambs was great! Maybe I understand American politics better then some people outside America, which helps! Cruise was outstanding, the story was great and I recommend it!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
