The Hoax is the unbelievable true story of Clifford Irving (Richard Gere), the writer who fakes the authorised autobiography of reclusive billionaire Howard Hughes, and came very close to pulling off the media scam of the 20th century!
Irvings attempts to substantiate his claims include, forgery, plagiarism, and falsifying legal documents, which sparked a media frenzy and take Irving to suspect a vast conspiracy including the US government and corporate empires are plotting against him.
The Hoax is a great movie of the story, I vaguely remember this happening, its great for the story to be clarified, even if its the Hollywood version :) A really good movie!
