In Hot Shots, Topper Harley (Charlie Sheen), a heartthrob fighter pilot is assigned to a Navy secret mission, and wants to clear his family name too. In a nutshell its spoofing Top Gun style movies.
Hot Shots Part Deux sees Topper on another secret mission, this time to rescue prisoners of war, spoofing Rambo and Apocalypse Now style movies.
One things for sure, even with people from the Airplane! movies, its not Airplane! Lloyd Bridges carries the two movies with his hilarious and insane performances as the accident prone and unbalanced Admiral (and then President) Tug Benson. Unlike most movies, the second is the best, but I don't rate these! Average!
