In Stardust, Tristan (Charlie Cox), a bumbling shopkeepers assistant in the English village of Wall, so named because of the stone barrier that separates it from the magical realm of Stormhold. Tristan is in love with the beautiful, Victoria (Sienna Miller), who prefers her other suitor, Humphrey (Henry Cavill), since he has travelled all the way to Ipswich to buy her an engagement ring, so Tristan offers to bring her a fallen star they've just seen, so she agrees to marry him if he can deliver it in one week!
Tristan is the product of his fathers (Nathaniel Parker) sole excursion to Stormhold, where he had a rendezvous with a mysterious slave girl (Kate Magowan) who claimed she was a princess. As Tristan retraces his fathers steps he discovers that the star he seeks is a beautiful young woman called Yvaine (Claire Danes). Meanwhile a trio of witches, led by Lamia (Michelle Pfeiffer), wants to cut out Yvaines heart to gain eternal youth, while the three remaining sons of the deceased king (Peter O'Toole) compete with one another to find the gem Yvaine wears around her neck.
Stardust is based on the novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman, the effects are great, the cast equally good and the story is what we expect from Gaiman! Recommended!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
i want to watch this i have done for ages!!
