This is the remade version of Mel Brooks classic The Producers, by Mel Brooks! A failing Broadway producer (Nathan Lane) and his accountant (Matthew Broderick) find a get rich quick scheme, if they raise ten times the money needed for a play that is a guaranteed flop, with creative accounting, they can keep all the spare money.
They find the worst play ever written, a musical about Adolph Hitler, obtain a large amount of money from OAP investors, hire a terrible lead actor and a transvestite director with absolutely no talent, then sit back to wait for the bad reviews. Uma Thurman is along for the ride too :)
They can't fail to fail to fail - can they?
I don 't think I've seen a remake thats worth talking about, until this, phenominal! You have to see this movie!
I've watched the first ten minutes of this, then fast-fowarded right through to the 'Springtime for Hitler' scene with John Barrowman. The whole reason I brought this DVD in the first place.
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
