Rat,
Hubert Flynn (
Pete Postlethwaite), is a Dublin bread delivery man who loves a pint of Guinness, a bet on the horses and his wife Conchita - in that order. So when he comes home late from the pub one evening and changes into a rat,
Conchita is slow to forgive.
Conchita (
Imelda Staunton), at first resists her families plans for
Hubert, but when a ghost-writer knocks on the door and proposes to put their story in a book and then a film of the book, and a book of the film, with riches beyond her dreams, she is tempted, setting the stage for a series of bizarre and comical adventures for Hubert the rat and his family.
Rat sounds like a
Disney movie, its not, it is pretty funny and I do find
Postlethwaite normally very good, but I found
Rat somewhat lacking, its OK if your at a loose end though.
Sorry, no trailer...
