Sgt Bilko is an updated film of the classic 1950s TV comedy show. US Army Master Sergeant Ernest G. Bilko (Steve Martin), a conniving motor pool supervisor who uses his position to make as much money as possible, while avoiding work, at a Kansas military base.
His commanding officer, Colonel Hall (Dan Aykroyd) is mostly oblivious to Bilkos antics, but when Bilkos old rival, Major Thorn (Phil Hartman) appears on the base, he is eager to settle the score by spearheading a review of Bilkos records and stealing away his fiance Rita (Glenne Headley), who Bilko has left at the altar too many times!
What follows is all the usual Bilko antics and a great story too that is pretty funny, its not as good as the TV series, but without Phil Silvers, it never could be! Still pretty good.
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
