Hannibal is based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Harris, and is the follow-up to the Oscar-winning Silence of the Lambs. Doctor Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) returns, resurfacing after a decade in hiding, to toy with FBI agent Clarice Starling (Julianne Moore).
As Starlings career flounders thanks to a drug bust gone wrong, Lecter attempts to elude a greedy Italian police detective Inspector Renaldo Pazzi (Giancarlo Giannini), willing to alert the authorities to Hannabals presence in Florence, for a price. Meanwhile, a maimed but wealthy former victim of Lecters, Mason Verger (Gary Oldman), plots his revenge on the doctor in a most unusual and grisly fashion.
Hannibal is very good sequel, Recommended!
