In Queenies Castle, Queenie Shepherd (Diana Dors) is the big, brash, blonde, bolshy and brassy woman everyone knows round Buckingham Flats. She is the one to watch out for at Margaret Rose House, where she rules the roost from her pokey little council flat.
Sharing the flat is brother-in-law Jack (Tony Caunter) and her three feckless, workshy sons, Douglas, Raymond and Bunny, they are the original problem family, Queenie has the lads just where she wants them. The only threat to Queenies reign comes from the head of the local residents association, the officious Mrs Petty (Lynne Perrie).
This is a Yorkshire TV sitcom from 1970, episode 1 and 2 are in colour, the rest in black and white. I had never heard of Queenies Castle, but enjoyed it!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
