Tom Welles (Nicholas Cage), a straight-laced surveillance specialist sees his innocent, naive world unravel when hired by the widow of a rich industrialist, to investigate what appears to be a snuff movie, discovered in her late husbands safe.
It appears to be a teenage girl being abused then murdered. In order to discover the truth, he enters the citys seedy underworld, guided by porn-store clerk Max California (Joaquin Phoenix), but finds he has bitten off more than he can chew!
I saw 8MM on VHS 10 years ago, and it still is a great movie, still edge of the seat, and still one I feel is worth watching again! Great movie, but not for the squeamish!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
