Play Misty For Me is a thriller about sex, stalking and obsession. Dave Garver (Clint Eastwood) is a California jazz DJ, struggling with committing to his on-off and on-again girlfriend Tobie (Donna Mills).
One night he meets the mini-skirted Evelyn (Jessica Walter) in a bar, and he goes home for a one-night stand with her, but Dave discovers that Evelyn has repeatedly called his show requesting that he Play Misty for me, and she is obsessive about him, and thats the start of the problems. This is one of the first modern stalker movies.
Play Misty For Me is surprisingly good, the scenes from the Monterey Jazz festival are real and refreshing too! At nearly 40 years old this movie surprisingly good, and better than some of Eastwoods later offerings to boot!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
