In the last couple of weeks I have watched both
Rollerball (1975) and
Rollerball (2002), as I am talking about trilogies etc. why not remakes too?
Both
Rollerball movies are about the same violent sport, but both are still very different movies, the 1975 one covers the main character having become bigger then the game, and the people who run it want him to stand down, or they will
remove him the Rollerball way! The new version has the main character finding out you do as your told, otherwise
you are removed the rollerball way!
Another thing you notice is
blood, there is very little in the 1975 version, despite its supposed violence and the abundance of it in 2002, and lets face it, there would be blood!
I suppose the big question is which is better? I'm normally not a fan of remakes, although this wasn't really a remake, more of
a set in the world of. Both are good films in their own right, and can be considered more like
brothers than
monarch and
pretender to the throne! If you see one, you really need to see the other!
