In Frankenhooker, Jeffery Franken (James Lorinz) is a medical school dropout working at the power plant. He calls himself a Bio Electric Engineer and enjoys playing with his one eyed brain in a fish tank he created. Jeffery is engaged to Elizabeth Shelley (Patty Mullen) who has an unfortunate accident with a remote control lawn mower!
So Jeffery collects whatever pieces are left and plans to resurrect his love, but realises he needs to replace the missing parts to complete her, so heads to the local red light district to harvest missing body parts! Crack smoking, nudity, and exploding hookers follow.
I first saw Frankenhooker in 1990 on VHS and really enjoyed it, so how does it hold up almost 20 years on? Well its surprisingly entertaining and funny, and this one is taken from a very good print too! Terrifying it isn't, but well worth seeing - and you can see Franken is based on Herbert West more than he is Victor Frankenstein!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
