Hannibal Rising DVD Report

In Hannibal Rising we learn the story of a young Hannibal Lecter, why the boy becomes the monster. Hannibal Lecter (Gaspard Ulliel) has survived the horrific experiences of World War 2 Lithuania, he was abused by Nazis and Russians, bullied in the orphanage, and not forgetting seeing his baby sister, Mischa, eaten to avoid starvation!

Hannibal finds his way to France, is reunited with his last living relative, a Japanese aunt, Lady Murasaki Shikibu (Gong Li), and begins studying medicine. Then he sets out to find the men responsible for the death of his sister! But Inspector Pascal Popil (Dominic West) is on his trail.

Hannibal Rising has been slated by many, but I enjoyed it, a good story, and vicious at times too! You do learn why a boy becomes a monster! Good movie.
