In Sahara, friends since kindergarten Dirk Pitt (Matthew McConaughey) and Al Giordino (Steve Zahn) work for Admiral James Sandecker, travelling around the world and salvaging treasures from the sea. Dirk is obsessed with the 150-year-old mystery of an Ironclad battleship that disappeared from Richmond, Virginia during the Civil War.

When a Confederate coin, one of only 5 minted and last seen on said ironclad, surfaces in Mali, in Africa, Dirk and Al plan to travel there on the admirals yacht. Meanwhile, Dirk meets Eva Rojas (Penelope Cruz), a doctor for the WHO, who believes there is a plague starting in Mali and since the WHO is unable to find another way into the war-torn country, Dirk and Al give Eva and her colleague a lift up-river, then if it can happen, it does!

I really enjoyed Sahara, it had loads of action and adventure, twists and turns, and much fun was had by all. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone!
