In Harsh Times, while waiting to join the LAPD, ex-soldier Jim Davis (Christian Bale) has time on his hands. Tormented by the horrors of war, he convinces his best friend Mike Alonzo (Freddy Rodriquez) to relive their anarchic past.
But Mike is supposed to be looking for a job, so must deceive his girlfriend Sylvia (Eva Longoria) to cruise the streets of South Los Angeles with Jim. Mike starts to find it increasingly difficult to deal with Jim who is showing mental issues, together they spiral into crime and violence that will lead to only one conclusion.
Harsh Times is a good gang-style crime movie, slow towards the end though, but a great climax! Recommended!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
