The Last Winter is set in one of the most pristine landscapes in the world, Alaska. A team led by Ed Pollack (Ron Perlman) are working to exploit oil resources, but are tormented by an unseen evil, after one crew-member is found dead, a disorientation slowly claims the sanity of other members of the team.
This creeping dread bursts open when a wind brings down a plane that approaches the station, explosions and carnage wreak havoc on the team and all functions fail in the camp, forcing two of the members out into the cold on a desperate bid to contact others, but they find themselves utterly alone in a world that is unraveling- either they are being stalked by menacing phantoms, or they are going mad!
The Last Winter is a great movie, using global warming as a launchpad for whats coming, a very tense film. Recommended!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
