In Ripleys Game, thirty years or so have passed since the events in The Talented Mr Ripley, we are still in Italy, where art connoisseur, harpsichord aficionado, master of souffles and genius of improvisational murder, Tom Ripley (John Malkovich) finds himself scorned at a local party.
While any ordinary person may repay the insult with a snappy comeback, the game Ripley has in mind is far subtler, and infinitely more sinister and deadly.
Ripleys Game is a very different movie to the first, certainly not just a Part 2, and is awesome, I'd forgotten how good Malkovich is. If you like thrillers, you have to see this movie!
I collect DVDs, we have over 3,000 titles in the house now! I buy most from Car Boot Sales,Poundshops, markets, sales, and greatly reduced from the internet, but I only buy what I want to watch! I do a short report when I watch them, I got rid of almost 800 titles at Christmas 2010 (low score, duplicates, ones I'd never watch etc.) I continue to wade through them, and appear to be buying slightly less, but still watching like mad :)
